There’s a natural food market that has an organic juice bar not far from where I live. Weekend mornings that are spent running here and there, completing errands that were neglected during the week are rarely complete without stopping for a fresh juice. There are a few juice options on their menu but you can also concoct your own juices. My latest and new favorite contains the juice of an orange, an apple, a few carrots and a few beets. Look at the beautiful color that makes once they are all mixed!
Drinking freshly-made juice is an easy way for the body to get many essential vitamins and minerals. When I drink a fresh juice, I know I am giving my body a nutritional treat. In return, this juice puts an extra spring in my step, all day long.
Oranges, as we all know, are one of the best sources of vitamin C but it is also a good source of potassium and also has some calcium. I find that it’s great for my skin. Oranges are awesome!
Apples are an excellent source of vitamin C. They benefit the large intestine, stomach and heart and help to remove toxins from the body. ”An apple a day keeps the doctor away!”
Carrots are the best source of vitamin A/beta-carotene which is great for your eyes, especially at night. They can also improve the health of the skin. Carrots rule!
Beets are high in folic acid and vitamins K and A. They benefit the heart, liver and large intestine. Beets are good for the blood and can treat anemia. They also have anti-inflammatory properties. Beets rock!
This foursome of fruit and veg are a great combo. What are your favorite things to juice?
Happy Monday all! Hope you’re starting your day (and week) off with a
