Hi! I’m Roos and I am currently located in Anaheim, California. When I first found yoga 5 years ago, I wasn’t too sure if it was going to help me or not. I had been struggling for over 10 years with my mental illness and had been bedridden for a big portion of those. I was deadly afraid to eat, to move, to feel, and to live. I had become very sick and weak, and I had given up hope. Then one morning I saw a video on YouTube of someone I didn’t know at the time, but is now my husband, doing yoga. I had nothing left to lose, so I thought I’d give it a try. The first video that popped up as I typed in ‘beginner yoga’ was Tara Stiles’ morning routine. I wasn’t able to do much physically, but what I was able to do made me feel better than I had felt in years.
For the first time in what felt like forever I felt calm. Every morning at 7am I’d wake up and sit down on my yoga mat next to my bed. As I sat there and meditated for a few moments, I was able to observe my panicked thoughts and simply let them go. I continued to do yoga and meditation every single morning from that moment on, which had a profound effect on my life. As I learned to breathe, move, feel, and respond, I also learned how to take care of myself and be kind to myself.
The way my life has transformed from the moment I found yoga is still unreal to me, and gives me the chills just thinking about it. It has been a long journey of healing myself and I’ll forever continue to do so. I’m ready now to go after my new found passion, helping other people feel better through yoga. Because I know how it helped me when I thought all was lost, and I wish for other people to experience what it feels like to feel good. I’m here to create space for you to be you, to follow what feels good to you, to release stress, and for you to feel free to follow your intuition. You have everything you need right inside.
