Am I doing it right? I always feel like I’m doing it wrong! What can I do?



Am I doing it right?

It’s normal to want to do things right. It’s also normal to worry about doing it wrong.

How often do you worry and second-guess yourself? With your work, relationships, kids, big decisions, or even small decisions? How often do you worry you’re doing it wrong in your yoga?


Most yoga traditions have extensive rules about how to do things right. How to point, twist and turn every inch of your body. How to live and breathe, what it should look and feel like, what it should do for you.

The problem with these never-ending rules is, they never end. If it’s these rules that matter, if they’re the key to it all, you’ll have no choice but to seek the experts at every turn. You’ll never master them. How could you? Only a guru could possibly get it right.

So is there another way?


Yoga is yours to practice how you want. Being you, in your life, is yours to practice how you want. You already are your own best expert. You only need to believe that.

You can believe there are extensive rules in yoga, that they are real, and that you need to go through someone else to get them. Or you can believe in you, in your ability to guide your body from how you feel.

You can create your own life. You can make your own rules to get there. You have what you need to get it done.


If you believe other people make the rules and have the keys, you’ll practice worry even in your yoga.

If you believe in your own intuition as the best guide for your life, then you make your own rules and walk your own steps. You won’t need anyone else’s keys. All the doors are already unlocked.


Yoga is your chance to practice believing in you.
