Back to My Roots

Every so often, Mike and I chat in a no-fear way about all the things we spend time on. We take an honest look on what’s working, what’s not working, and maybe most important, what’s fun!

When I first started letting myself think and act this way, it was scary. Everything is supposed to work the same and keep working the same forever. And if it doesn’t, I’m a big failure. Those were my inside thoughts until I realized, my past self who was the PT Cruiser spokesperson, said in my last line of the TV commercial, change is good right? 22-year-old me is here to to teach me another lesson.

This moveable mindset is part of my softness journey. I learned softness is not weakness. Softness is what makes strength possible. Not being willing to change is weakness. That rigid mindset can lead to some pretty funky habits and outcomes. Now I LOVE my moveable reflection moments and have them with myself regularly. I keep going with this because it feels good, I know it’s good, and I see great results.

If you’re feeling stuck, needing a boost for your mood, wellbeing, or creative and work focus, don’t be afraid to be moveable. Look at what’s working, what’s not working, and what’s fun. Let yourself imagine and then plan things around doing what you love, what gives you purpose, and what’s fun!

Here is what I came up with in my latest moveable mindset check in.

What I Love

I absolutely love doing yoga with everyone on the Strala Yoga app every day. Almost 5 years we have been going now, and I love it more and more. Thank you for practicing with me and being such an important part of our global community.

I completely love being in rooms with people practicing everywhere around our world. Leading classes, retreats, events and trainings fuels me in a way we all know to be magic.

What I Changed

I love sharing softness breaks and visits with you on the Tara Stiles podcast.  I started this podcast a few years ago when Acast, the podcast network, approached me. I began with solo episodes and loved that. I started interviewing friends and then eventually strangers who reached out. All of this was fun but it took a LOT of time to prepare in the way I want to prepare, to properly interview someone, edit, and promote. I realized I didn’t have the bandwidth for this kind of engagement, and it didn’t fit with what I have time to give right now. AND that’s ok. Even better to admit it, and make a change.

I LOVE and appreciate being interviewed on people’s podcasts so please keep asking me. I know how much goes into making a great show.

So I’m now back to a weekly podcast, and it’s back to my original intention. I’m having fun with it again, and what’s fun is contagious and hopefully useful!

I start each episode with a softness break. Come for that and hang around for a visit with me where I share what I’m up to, what I’m learning and thinking about and reflecting on each week. I love it and I hope you enjoy too!

So your turn. What are you keeping, dropping, changing, and adding to get back to your roots?

lots of love,
Tara
