I’m happy to be back in NYC, but love the time I have while traveling to focus and reflect. I’ve been thinking about 2015 and how we’re already into February… did you make a 2015 New Year’s resolution? Maybe you planned to exercise 4 times a week. Maybe 5. Maybe you told yourself no added sugar. Maybe you committed to more yoga or more meditation.
The gyms are packed from January 2nd to February 2nd, and then back to normal for the rest of the year. There must be something wrong with our approach. The way we diet and exercise can be totally influenced by flashy advertisements and the appeal of quick results. How can we get through the whole year feeling good? What do we need to do to wake up on December 31, 2015, and look back on 365 days full of health and happiness?
Instead of making a New Year’s resolution, I made a motto. For 2015, my motto is “with ease.” It’s how we approach handstands at Strala, so why not apply it to everything? Approaching each day with ease is about listening to our bodies and doing what makes us feel good. We’re all different: the only person who can tell you what you feel is you. This year, let’s listen in and remind ourselves every morning to approach the new day with ease.
If rigid resolutions work for you, great! If you want to make a goal to bring ease into all aspects of your life, connecting with yourself and your community, we’ll be doing it together.
I’ll be traveling again soon, sharing Strala and ease with more friends all over the world. Come say hello when I’m in your area!
