It’s about Ease.

With Strala, the focus is on ease, and moving how it feels great to move, whether the movement is simple or challenging which enables your relaxation response to work, allowing your body to function extremely well, you feel great, and you want to continue that feeling by eating well and treating yourself well.

The relaxation response can’t work for you when you participate in an activity that makes you feel stuck or rigid or something you are just trying to get through to burn the most calories. It doesn’t matter if it’s a yoga class, running, spinning, or training, if it makes you feel rigid, is taught rigid, or puts you in a state of mind where you are tense and find yourself squinting and frustrated, it won’t work. You can gain some benefits of movement and physically activity, but you are doing damage to your mental state and wiring your brain for a destructive cycle of punishment and reward. You punish yourself with the tense exercise and need to balance that with reward which most often ends up being something unhealthy to consume, thoughts, food, actions, tension. Tension builds tension. There is no way out except the easy way.

Ease.

The movements in Strala call on your entire body to work in concert with your mind cultivating calm ease throughout. You gain strength, flexibility and awareness. Your body carves out your ideal shape and weight with practice. You are working your body in the classes, but the main difference between Strala and other exercise, is the ease.

You will sweat and you will get quite a fantastic workout, especially in STRONG and ENERGIZE. Getting a great physical activity in and having an easy mediative practice are interconnected here. RELAX and GENTLE are designed to release tension physically and mentally with softer movements that require less physical energy so you can rejuvenate deeply.

The concept is designed to accomplish hard things easily, and find an approach that is gentle and fluid on the body through the movements. Permission to move how it feels great allows everyone to find their own way within the structure. Class becomes like nature, organized chaos.

Every inhale lifts, opens, and creates space mentally and physically. Every exhale moves you right in. The movements become an easy, fluid flow whether you are in a simple movement or something quite challenging.
