When is More Yoga Teacher Training a Good Idea?

But to make nice ideas into a practical reality, not stuck at the level of interesting information, takes more work.  Developing a real ability to heal yourself and others, to accomplish more in your life and do more for the people around you, this takes much more work, much more education, much more practice.  And this is what most of us are wanting.  Not just to collect nice ideas, but also a real everyday ability to create something better.

How our yoga teacher training curriculum changes each year

Overall with these trainings, both in person and online, Tara and I are each drawing from more than 10 years of university-level education and study in creating our curriculum.  My studies at Harvard focused on mind-body medicine, and I have more than 30 years of practice with Eastern martial and healing arts.  For Tara, she studied choreography and movement at the university level with master Eileen Cropley and ABT Principle Rory Foster, and has been sharing this now for over 20 years.  So there’s always much more in the library than what we can give in any training.  And we’re also sharing from our own lives, how we’re learning new things each year, which makes every training we give something new every year.

I think this is a long way of saying, you’ll find all new concepts and approaches, practices and skill-sets, in whatever training you pick.  And over the course of many years, this is building toward a substantial university-level education in health, wellbeing, and practical ability to accomplish more for our selves and for this world.

I always say this, but in a way it comes up in my mind every day.  It’s the practice of a lifetime, what we’re sharing here.  And we’re really lucky, to be sharing it together with all of you.

About Strala Yoga Training

Strala combines the movement and healing wisdom of tai chi with the form vocabularies of yoga, tai chi, qigong, and Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine, to help people release stress, move easily through challenge, and live radiantly inspiring lives.

It begins with a mindset, that says our best way to get where we’re going is to feel good along the way. It also works miracles for whole health, helping us to find ease in our bodies and minds, and create the right conditions both for healing and optimal performance.

In our Strala Training Courses, you learn to shape your destiny on every level that counts, from your psychology, chemistry and neurology, to your chromosomes and even gene expression. The unique set of skills you develop – for connecting with yourself and others, unblocking your energy, healing what needs healing and accomplishing challenge with ease – uncovers your ability to create the life you want, and be an inspiring leader to the people around you.

A question often comes up about when it’s good to take more yoga teacher trainings, and when it might be repeating what you already know.  It’s come up again more recently with our new Online Yoga Training, so thought I would share some answers with you all together here.  And to begin there’s a short answer:

  1. Each of our yoga trainings is different every year.
  2. It depends on what you’re wanting from education.

For some people in yoga teacher trainings, you want to gather some interesting new ideas for thought.  Or maybe you want to learn how to get into some new poses.  For this sort of person and aim, I think a few weeks of study can cover a whole lot. Maybe that’s enough.

It Depends on What You Want

And for some people, the desire for education is something quite different.  It makes me think of going through medical school.  You might understand right from the start that it’s better to be healthy than sick  You might also learn quickly that the human capacity to heal, and to accomplish more in life, is enabled by harmony and ease in all we do, and depleted by disconnection, aggression, and stress.
