Strala 300+Hour Advanced Leadership Training

Diagnose and release the stress that inhibits our daily lives, move with grace and coordination through all kinds of challenges, and heal injuries and ailments on a professional level.

We aren’t fixed beings, stuck where we are, unchangeable. We are move like a river, not hardwired but softwired. How we move – with tension or without, with grace and coordination or force and aggression – rewires our neurology and rebalances our microbiome every single day. It changes our gene expression, makes our chromosomes healthier, and even alters what we pass along to our children. We create our lives, our health, and our world, in this way.

It matters deeply, the choices we make. It matters first to ourselves – how we choose to take care of ourselves, and move in our lives. It matters to the people we care for – how we are able to support each other, what we are able to give. And it matters to the whole world. Because this is what we create, through the choices we make, every day.

This Advanced Leadership Program helps us discover choice in our own lives in each moment, and share this on a professional and profoundly transformational level with the people around us.

Our program is backed by mind-body medicine pioneer Dr. Deepak Chopra, as well as Harvard Professor of Neurology and Director of the Genetics and Aging Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Rudolph Tanzi. You receive a top-tier education, that is applicable for everyone.

Curriculum Details: What happens in a 300+Hour Advanced Leadership Training?

Week 1: Movement. How you are in your body, how you move through your life.

The first week focuses entirely on how we move. We’ll learn to identify and release stress and tension from our bodies and minds, unblock our energy, and return to what’s natural in each of us, in every situation. We create a structure and practice that leads to breakthrough progress, in our way of being with our selves, and our way of moving through everything we do.

Week 2: Leadership. How you move, uplift, and inspire the people around you.

The second week focuses entirely on effective and inspiring leadership. We learn to create a way of being and moving, language and environment, that uplifts everyone around us to achieve progress in their own lives. Of course this applies to leading in yoga, as well as every environment we touch.

Week 3: Healing. How to form a relationship with yourself and others, that elicits a wonderfully effective healing response.

The third week focuses wholly on diagnosis, self-care, and healing. When we progress strongly with how we are, and how we move through and lead our own lives, there’s a prize: we become really effective at what we choose to do. And one of the greatest prizes we can share, with ourselves and others, is the ability to heal – both what’s inside us, as well as all kinds of physical ailments that come from stress and injury.

Progressing to advanced capability, across every element of our Ready-to-Lead Program

Explore: How we are in everything we do. An overview of Being, Moving and Healing. Taking care of yourself, so you can take care of others.

Approach: Three Elements. How to create our best yoga, through Breath, Feeling, and Natural Movement.

Softening: Our ability to soften is the beginning of everything. We’re so used to living under attack – hardening, flexing, straining – when things get hard. But we have a choice. When something is hard, you can soften. You can go easier in your body and mind. And from here, when things get hard, you’re learning to release tension, rather than pile it up. Which makes you, like water, invincible. We’ll practice this art across many contexts, and open a clear path to bring it fully into your life.

Breath Body Connection. Our movement is guided and fueled by our breath. Every inhale lifts and expands. Every exhale moves you further. This oceanic experience allows your body to go along for the ride, creating space for lightness and ease in your experience.

Feeling. Slow down and breath deep enough to feel, believe that what you feel is worth responding to, and respond. Your connection to feeling and intuition allows you to move into exactly what you need in each moment.  You’ll learn to be in alignment with yourself always, and feel good every step of the way.

Process: The Principles of Natural Movement.  How to accomplish far more, with far less effort, in everything you do.  We begin with our breath, connect to our feeling, and move from our middle.  We’ll replace force and struggle with grace and coordination.  With easy, natural movements, we can progress far beyond pose goals, and dive into the process of getting to know our bodies and minds.

Practice: Hard Things Easy.  It’s possible to get where you want to go by learning to drop the stress, and move easily through challenge. In fact, it’s not just possible. The best among us – the most inspirational of any human effort – has been achieved in this way. Nothing truly great has ever been achieved by working harder than needed. The impossible becomes possible only when we move gracefully, when we choose peace over aggression.

We’ll replace the self-limiting myth of no pain no gain, release stress and struggle from our bodies and minds, and use the principles of natural movement to make the impossible possible.  This becomes your way of being. It becomes how you move, how you create yourself, and the world around you.

Guiding: how to create an uplifting and enabling experience.  Your first responsibility is to take really good care of yourself.  What you have for yourself is what you have to give to others.  From here, we move through the best ways to orchestrate an amazing experience for everyone around you.  You’ll learn to lead people into their own freedom, intuition, creativity, and radiantly good health.

Healing: Touch and Support.  How to create a supportive, enabling, and healing relationship with yourself, and with others.  We’ll detail the core principles of safety, alignment, and practical anatomy, and provide an effective approach for healing of both acute injury and chronic pain.

Stress, Health & Nutrition.  We’ll explore your mind-body connection, the role of stress in disease, and techniques for releasing stress and activating your body’s Relaxation Response.  We’ll also explore the microbiome, and various nutritional strategies for curing ailments and enabling optimal health.

Leadership, Work, Life.  We’ll carry our practice of being, moving and healing into how you create the life you want.

Whatever goals you might have, how you feel when you get there is created by how you are along the way. In yoga, this is why challenges like handstands are best achieved not by practicing handstands – but by learning to move easily and comfortably in your body, through everything you do. Of course you can take a handstand by force – jumping and crashing, using muscle rather than coordination and grace. But this will never feel good. And the goal will lack meaning. We’ll have learned only to reach our goals by force, by not feeling good.

So of course there’s a better way, moving with grace and coordination, rather than by force and struggle. We learn something valuable about ourselves, moving this way. We learn that we can accomplish much more in our lives without stress and struggle than with it. We learn that we can get to wherever we want from wherever we are. And we learn that we can feel good, always.  It’s not about the handstand. It’s how you get where you’re going that creates what you have.

More Practice.  All of our trainings are very practical.  We’re not just talking about all of this – we’re going to do it together. So we have plenty of real class time for practice, exploration, and making what you want real in your everyday life.

Weekly Schedule and Degrees

This advanced program is designed so you can put the elements together in whatever combination works best for you.

  • Three Weeks : 500+Hour and 300+Hour Degree. This advanced program builds on top of our 200+Hour training, so you graduate with a 500+Hour Advanced Leadership degree. Or it can stand on its own as an advanced 300+Hour course.
  • Two Weeks : 400+Hour and 200+Hour Degree. This can serve as an alternative path to our initial 200+Hour Ready-to-Lead program, if you’ve already graduated from a Strala Intensive Training. It can also provide a continuing 200 hours on top of your previous Ready-to-Lead education, so you graduate with a 400+hour degree.
  • One Week : 300+Hour Degree and Continuing Education. This works well as continuing education, and if it’s on top of our 200+Hour Ready-to-Lead course, you graduate with a 300+Hour degree.

It’s perfectly fine to take all three weeks at once, or just one or two weeks at a time. As with our 200+hour program, putting these weeks together over time works well for people, so if it’s easier for your schedule, it’s just fine with us.

If you’re joining the full program, at least 270 hours are spent learning and practicing with our faculty. Outside of Intensive Hours other assignments can be done in your own time. Stay easy, have persistence and patience with yourself, and you’ll accomplish it all and more.

This is important work you’re choosing to do. Helping people feel great helps you and the world.

Q: If I’m taking just one or two weeks to start, which weeks should I pick?

Our program is designed so each week builds on the previous one, so that’s probably the best path to take. In Week 1, you’ll develop your ability to identify and release tension in your body and mind, moving easily through challenge with your whole self, and learning to self-diagnose and treat with your own movement – this all sets up our ability to lead, which moves into Week 2.

During Week 2, you’ll navigate through connecting, understanding, leading, and inspiring the people around you. This brings you to a place where you’re able to heal others, which moves into Week 3.
Of course, if you have a special reason to take these weeks in a different order, this is perfectly fine, just let us know.

Q: Who can join this program?

Strala Ready-to-Lead Training graduates. If you’ve taken a Strala 200+Hour Ready-to-Lead Training, you’re in a perfect place to join this Advanced Leadership Training.

Strala Intensive Training graduates. If you’ve taken a Strala Intensive Training, this program is open to you as well, and your intensive time counts toward the total practice hours.

200 hour graduates from other schools. If you’ve trained with another school but not with Strala, please contact us to talk about eligibility for the advanced course. Our Ready-to-Lead program covers more breadth and depth than other trainings, in focus areas including health and nutrition, injury and trauma, diagnosis, healing, and leadership. Alliances, Certification

& Work

Strala is part of the global Yoga Alliance Professionals / Yoga Alliance UK, and they certify our 200+hour program. They don’t certify shorter programs, although our standards and approach are the same, and they count our intensives toward continuing education.

We joined this alliance because they’re working to evolve and adopt much higher standards than their American counterpart. They don’t think all trainings should have uniform generic content, led by people without much experience or practical ability. Instead, they’re looking to evolve certification that supports the best leaders in the world, to share what they know. This is important to us.

Some employers look for alliance certification, but it’s worth remembering that getting a job doesn’t have so much to do with alliances, and YA in America particularly is just a marketing organization. It’s not able to provide standards or exams for qualification like medical school. So just like any kind of work, getting a job relates mostly to being excellent at what you do, and lining up well with the person who is hiring.

People are leading Strala all around the world following these trainings, in all kinds of places – including independent studios, gyms, health clubs, community centers, dance studios, apartment complexes, hotels, and even their living rooms. There are so many opportunities out there, and Strala connects especially well with a very wide range of people. This makes it easy both to find and create your own work.

Of course it takes time and practice to get really good at anything – much more than a few weeks or months of training. So long after our core time is complete, Tara and Mike remain available to help everybody keep progressing. We want everyone to be really good at this! It’s why we do what we do.
