The Best Present Ever

Hi Friends,

As the year comes to a close reflection and thankfulness run through me. People at Strala seem to be extra aware, present, and soaking up the time with themselves on the mat to connect, have fun, and remember that the holidays isn’t about buying the best presents, but about connecting with those we care about and being grateful for what we have in our lives.

I crave being around people that want to feel good, connect, expand, and have fun in the process. It’s good for the soul as well as the body. It keeps me healthy and happy. I haven’t been sick once this year, not even a cold, pretty insane with my travel schedule, but I owe a lot of that to the people in my life that constantly lift and support me up.

Giving & Receiving

Honestly, I’ve always been more comfortable giving than receiving. I feel comfort in independence, not needing anything from anyone to survive, and being in control of helping others become happy. This year that concept was tested and shifted for me slowly and then it bopped me over the head.

As I travel around the globe celebrating our Reebok colllab, and leading Strala trainings, and other adventures, I often am surprised by the most welcoming people and the most thoughtful and personal gifts. Home made socks, scarves, pins, special meaningful items from each country I visit, items to keep me healthy, items to keep me happy, and just the most thoughtful stuff. I have piles of it and honestly I for a while I didn’t know how to feel about it. It’s overwhelming to be loved and it’s even more overwhelming to take that love in and let it support you. And then it hit me.

My work and my aim in my life is to help and support others. I have some big ideas for a while down the line, but the next several years and always a big part of what I do will be supporting individuals so they can become happy and healthy. In order to accomplish my goals I need to allow myself to be supported and dive into my insecurities of a bull headed independent. It begins with a thank you to everyone who has done something nice specifically for me. There are hundreds of thousands of you out there. Your notes, your mail, your cards, your presents, I am grateful maybe more than you can imagine. I’ve finally accepted the loop and wanted to pass along my joy to you. Thank you.

Lots of great things coming for you and me in 2014. I can’t wait to share with you.
