You Are a Space Maker

It’s impossible to live through the last year and not have some sort of massive reflection slither through you. About a decade ago in NYC I, and millions of other ambitious people of all interests, had something in common. We wanted space. A room of our own. Space to be. Space to dream on. A space to see and be seen. I related to the city through this lens of space creation, and had the good fortune of having my own laboratory for bringing people together for practice. We made it a theme. Every inhale creates space. Every exhale moves you in. The deeper you breathe the more room opens.

Whether we were “creating space” or simply sliding into ourselves, it felt great to do this together. One summer we had a few hundred posters printed up with our mantra, and took it to the streets with a roll of scotch tape. We handed out our space maker flyers with no ask in return. We only wanted to whisper the message that creating a space for you is possible and necessary.

I’m grateful our organic themes that have risen up over the years still ring true today. I have no driving interest in reinventing, changing direction, but I change, we all change. My practice stays the same, but maybe my understanding deepens a bit.

In expansion of our non-local (Deepak’s spot-on term for the feeling of being everywhere while in flow state) studio Strala Home, I feel it would only be authentic to expand into offerings we would be doing inside the walls, with our bodies closer. We can create space wherever we are, together.

What: Strala Online 200+Hour Yoga Leadership Training, Create Community. 
This training is a special chance for exploring creating a good connection with yourself through your practice so you have a strong foundation to share with others. You’ll create the ground you need to move easily, confidently and capably through your whole life.

And if you’re looking to lead classes in yoga, tai chi, or carry new approaches, skill-sets and practices into your work, it’s also a Leadership Training which provides a 200+Hour Yoga Leadership Training Certification. Every year this program has a totally new curriculum, so whether it’s your first time or you’re returning to reconnect, we’re excited to share a wonderful new experience with you here.

Where: This course is entirely online, so you can join from right where you are each day.

When: Daily sessions from April 17 to 30, 2021. We’ll have two hour-long live video sessions each day at 9:30am EST and 2:30pm EST, plus added sessions throughout the day as more questions and topics come up, all shared in our private online group for this training. These sessions are also recorded, so you can always watch live or on your own schedule, and review whenever you like.

Forever access to two of our Strala Online 100+Hour Trainings in Yoga, Tai Chi, Leadership, and Healing.  This training in April also gives you any two of our Online 100+Hour Trainings, just choose the ones you like, and we’ll set it up as soon as you register.

Finding the right distance. It’s a practice we can feel out and adjust in every moment. It’s so easy to stick to habits that are familiar, even when they are destructive. We all have our reasons, our armor and our guard up to protect ourselves against whatever specific formula triggers us. We are afraid if we are more gentle with ourselves, we won’t be braced to defend ourselves, but the opposite is true. Moving like you love yourself in yoga and life is a choice to create a new, lasting habit, a way of being truly you.Tai Chi, nature, science, and the wisdom of your Great Grandmother, remind us when you go to war with yourself, you lose. When you move with whole self harmony towards progress, treating every bad habit you find along the way as a gold mind opportunity to move toward balance, you feel better, your body works better and you have access to more of yourself. You have a chance to do some good.I move like I love myself. It can start with an idea, a mantra, a practice, a way of being. If you choose to let it make a home in you, you will have gone to peace with yourself.
