Making Your Own Yoga

This is Margaux. This is Margaux in downward dog. Any questions? Like how can this little creature be so cute? I don’t know, I guess it has something to do with grand design, and survival, and cuteness being a factor in making sure the young get fed and all that. Who cares, all I know is she is my niece and looking at these photos makes me feel happy. So I thought I’d share them. I took these pictures on a recent trip to California. Eli and I went to visit my family for a couple days (San Clemente, California…

Hold That Thought?

A curious thing happened to me the other day, and it got me to thinking.  There I was at the end of a yoga class, relaxing and ‘letting it all go’ in Savasana, when I had a great idea.  What was this great idea?  It doesn’t matter.  The fact is that I seem to have some of my best ideas when I am in Savasana, just in that time when I don’t want to attach to any thoughts at all.  I am attempting to simply witness.  Ironic isn’t it.   I suppose it makes sense though that one might have great ideas in Savasana.  Even further, I…

Break on Through

Yoga to Make it Rain

I just got back on the grid. .internet access that is, after spending a week in my family's home town of Newton Illinois, where to be fair, there is internet access in several homes, but lets just say at Grandmas house (where I was staying), you can tweet from your phone and get emails as long as there wasn't anything attached, but there's not enough juice to upload a pic :) We (myself and awesome camera and production team) decended upon Newton with the goal of documenting the town, the people in it, and hopefully convincing some people to talk…

The Culture of Strala

Hey Kids, Just felt like reaching out and connecting with all the readers here on our growing-like-a-weed Strala blog. Quite an amazing culture has developed around not only the studio in NYC, but around the globe and it's so exciting to see.  This blog has become so special and taken on a life of its own so quickly, but I should get used to that time warp happening.  When things are in the flow, time adjusts, and things develop very fast.  I've experienced this "being in the flow" in the last several years of having the pleasure and amazing opportunities…
